Dealing With the Blockages

Continuation

1924: Not included

MODERN: We believe in the Virgin Birth, Sinless Life, Miraculous Ministry, Substitutionary Atoning Death, Bodily Resurrection, Triumphant Ascension and Abiding Intercession of the Lord Jesus Christ and in His personal, visible, bodily return in power and glory as the blessed hope of all believers

(Isa. 7:14; Matt. 1:23; Heb. 7:26; 1 Pet. 2:22; Acts 2:22, 10:38; 2 Cor. 5:21; Heb. 9:12; Luke 24:39; 1 Cor. 15:4; Acts 1:9;

Eph. 4:8-10; Rom. 8:34; Heb. 7:25; 1 Cor. 15:22-24, 51-57;

1 Thess. 4:13-18; Rev. 20:1-6).

SERIOUS SERIOUS PROBLEM with “we believe in the Virgin Birth” for in “new translations” used by AOG Jesus had an earthly father as believed by Jehovah’s Witnesses too!!!

PROOF:

NWT Jehovah’s Witness Luke 2:33 And its father and mother continued wondering at the things being spoken about it.

NIV Luke 2: 33 The child's father and mother marveled at what was said about him.

NASB Luke 2:33  And His father and mother were amazed at the things which were being said about Him.

AMPLIFIED Luke 2:33 And His [legal] father and [His] mother were marveling at what was said about Him.

NLT Luke 2:33  Jesus’ parents were amazed at what was being said about him.

ESV Luke 2:33 And his father and his mother marveled at what was said about him.

The Authorised Version is extremely different and accurate.

Luke 2: 33 And Joseph and his mother marvelled at those things which were spoken of him.

1924: The fall of man, who was created pure and upright, but fell by voluntary transgression. Gen. 1:26-31, 3:1-7;

Rom. 5:12-21

MODERN: We believe in the fall of man, who was created pure and upright, but fell by voluntary transgression

(Gen. 1:26-31, 3:1-7; Rom. 5:12-21).

----- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1924 Salvation through faith in Christ. Who died for our sins according to Scriptures, was buried, but was raised from among the dead according to the Scriptures, and through His blood we have Redemption. Titus 2:11; Romans 10:8-15;

Titus 3:5-7; I Cor. 15:3-4

MODERN: We believe in salvation through faith in Christ, who, according to the Scriptures, died for our sins, was buried and was

raised from the dead on the third day, and that through His Blood we have Redemption (Titus 2:11, 3:5-7; Rom. 10:8-15; 1 Cor. 15:3-4).

This experience is also known as the new birth, and is an instantaneous and complete operation of the Holy Spirit upon initial faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.  (John 3:5-6; James 1:18; 1 Pet. 1:23; 1 John 5:1).

SERIOUS SERIOUS PROBLEM – NO BLOOD IN NIV:

Colossians 1:14 (King James Version)

In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:

NIV – NO BLOOD VERSION :,

Col. 1: 14 in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1924: The baptism by immersion in water is enjoined upon all who  have really repented and have truly believed with all their hearts in

Christ as Saviour Matt. 28:19; Acts 10:47-48; Acts 2:38-39

MODERN: We believe that all who have truly repented and believed in Christ as Lord and Saviour are commanded to be baptised by immersion in water (Matt. 28:19; Acts 10:47-48;

Acts 2:38-39).

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1924: The baptism in the Holy Spirit, the initial evidence of which is the speaking with other tongues. Acts 2:4;

Acts 10:44-46; 11:14-16; 19:6.

MODERN: We believe in the baptism in the Holy Spirit as an enduement of the believer with power for service, the essential, biblical evidence of which is the speaking with other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance  (Acts 1:4-5, 8,

2:4, 10:44-46, 11:14-16, 19:6).

No longer the "initial evidence"!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1924: Not included

MODERN: We believe in the operation of the gifts of the Holy Spirit and the gifts of Christ in the Church today (1 Cor. 12:4-11, 28; Eph. 4:7-16).

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1924: Holiness of life and conduct in obedience to the command of God “Be ye holy for I am holy” 1 Pet. 1:14-16;

Heb. 12:14; 1 Thess. 5:23; 1 John 2: also I Cor. 13

MODERN: We believe in holiness of life and conduct in obedience to the command of God (1 Pet. 1:14-16;

Heb. 12:14; 1 Thess. 5:23; 1 John 2:6).

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1924: Divine Healing – Deliverance from sickness is provided for in the Atonement.Isa. 53:4-5, Matt. 8:16-17,

James 5:13-16

MODERN: We believe that deliverance from sickness, by Divine Healing is provided for in the Atonement

(Isa. 53:4-5, Matt. 8:16-17, James 5:13-16).

MAJOR MAJOR PROBLEM – the Work of Dr. Petts, former Principal and trainer of AOG ministers:

Petts direct quote from his paper for EPTA 1993

Healing and the Atonement:

….. I reject the view that Matthew 8:17 teaches that healing is in the atonement. There are no direct references to the Servant passages in Matthew’s passion narrative and his quotes from those passages are used in a non-redemptive setting. The quote from Isaiah 53:4 is set in the context of the healing of physical sickness, and Matthew avoids, both by his divergence from the LXX and in his choice of verbs any suggestion that Jesus vicariously took sickness upon himself.

Indeed for Matthew, Isaiah 53:4 was fulfilled not in Jesus’ passion,  but in his healing ministry in Galilee.

1924: The Breaking of Bread – This is enjoined upon all believers until the Lord comes. Luke 22:14-20;

1 Cor. 11:20-34

MODERN: We believe that all who have truly repented and believe in Christ as Lord and Saviour should regularly participate in Breaking of Bread (Luke 22:14-20; 1 Cor. 11:20-34).

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1924: The premillenial second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ Himself is the blessed hope set before all believers.

I Cor. 15:22-24; I Thess. 4: 13-18; I Cor. 15: 51-57.

The everlasting punishment of all who are not written in the Book of Life. Rev. 20: 10-15

MODERN: We believe in the bodily resurrection of all men, the everlasting conscious bliss of all who truly believe in our Lord Jesus Christ and the everlasting conscious punishment of all whose names are not written in the Book of Life

(Dan. 12:2-3; John 5:28-29, 1 Cor. 15:22-24; Matt. 25:46; 2 Thess. 1:9; Rev. 20:10-15).

A.V. Ephesians 4: 7 But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ.

8Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.

9(Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended firstinto the lower parts of the earth?

10He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above allheavens, that he might fill all things.)

11And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some,evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;

12For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:

13Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledgeof the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the statureof the fulness of Christ:

14That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, andcarried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;

15But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:

16From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.

IMPORTANT NOTE: It is very significant that the Five Fold Ministry is removed from the current STATEMENT OF FAITH;

the 1924 Pioneers being led to include it!!!!!!

        II.     Elim

In relating  Elim’s modern day statement of faith to the heart of the Pioneers we use the contents of six messages given by Principal George Jeffreys over IRBA Radio. Albert Edsor: ‘Set Your House In Order’ p.164-176

THE BIBLE: We believe the Bible, as originally given, to be without error, the fully inspired and infallible Word of God and the supreme and final authority in all matters of faith and conduct.

In four years at what was Elim’s Bible College I cannot recall one single reference to the Bible as used by the College’s founder George Jeffreys.

Proverbs 22:28 (King James Version)

Remove not the ancient landmark, which thy fathers have set.

He was a man of one Book – The Authorised Version of the Bible, which he loved and treasured and from which he derived great spiritual strength.

THE TRINITY: We believe that the Godhead exists co-equally and co-eternally in three persons Father, Son and Holy Spirit and that these three are one God, sovereign in creation, providence and redemption.

I found no foundation given Biblically for this in Elim’s Bible College, a Bible College with no Bible, only a Gnostic interpretation brought together by spiritualists called the NIV.

This heretical document declares Jesus not to be co-equal – along with all the other heretical “Bibles” the so called Pentecostal world is being bound by.

Elim’s new Bible is nearer doctrinally to Jehovah’s Witness founder Charles Taze Russell than Principal George Jeffreys!

PROOF:

“New translations” agree with New World Translation on “lesser than Jehovah God” point!

As with AOG the "new translation" Elim now has scriptural licence for masters-inferiors heavy shepherding.

NWT: Phil.2: 6 who, although he was existing in God’s form, gave no consideration to a seizure, namely, that he should be equal to God.

NIV Phil. 2:6 Who, being in very nature God,  did not consider equality with God something to be grasped,

NASB  Phil. 2:6who, although He existed in the form of God, did not  regard equality with God a thing to be grasped

AMPLIFIED Phil. 2:6 Who, although being essentially one with God and in the form of God [possessing the fullness of the attributes which make God God], did not think this equality with God was a thing to be eagerly grasped or retained,

NLT  Phil. 2:6Though he was God, he did not think of equality with God as something to cling to.

ESV Phil 2: 6who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped,

The Authorized Version supports Elim’s Statement of Faith so why does their College embrace a Gnostic heresy?

Philippians 2:6 (King James Version)

Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

THE SAVIOUR:  We believe in the true and proper deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His real and complete humanity, in His sinless life, in His authoritative teaching, in His substitutionary and atoning sacrifice through His blood shed, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, in His heavenly intercession and His second advent to receive His Church.

Edsor records Jeffreys belief in the deity of Jesus Christ, and the judgment seat will be of Christ.

How can Elim believe in the true and proper deity of our Lord Jesus Christ when their “Bible” says he is not equal to the Father? In addition their “Bible” does not show God having been manifest in the flesh!

“New translations” agree with New World Translation on “God did not manifest in the flesh” point! “He” or “Christ” is not admitting God manifest in the flesh!

NWT: I Tim. 3:16 Indeed, the sacred secret of this godly devotion is admittedly great: ‘He was made manifest in flesh, was declared righteous in spirit, appeared to angels, was preached about among nations, was believed upon in [the] world, was received up in glory.’

NIV: 1 Tim. 3:16 Beyond all question, the mystery of godliness is great: He appeared in a body, was vindicated by the Spirit,  was seen by angels,  was preached among the nations, was believed on in the world, was taken up in glory.

NASB: 1 Tim. 3:16  By common confession, great is the mystery of godliness:He who was revealed in the flesh, Was vindicated in the Spirit,Seen by angels. Proclaimed among the nations, Believed on in the world,Taken up in glory.

AMPLIFIED: 1 Timothy 3:16 And great and important and weighty, we confess, is the hidden truth (the mystic secret) of godliness. He [God] was made visible in human flesh, justified and vindicated in the [Holy] Spirit, was seen by angels, preached among the nations, believed on in the world, [and] taken up in glory.

Footnotes: a) 1 Timothy 3:16Some manuscripts read "God." (Note; where Amplified says “some manuscripts – it is insultingly downgrading Textus Receptus – the PURE WORD OF GOD!)

NLT I Tim. 3:16  Without question, this is the great mystery of our faith: Christ was revealed in a human body and vindicated by the Spirit. He was seen by angels and announced to the nations. He was believed in throughout the world and taken to heaven in glory.

ESV I Tim. 3:16 Great indeed, we confess, is the mystery of godliness: He was manifested in the flesh, vindicated by the Spirit, seen by angels, proclaimed among the nations, believed on in the world, taken up in glory.

AUTHORIZED VERSION says clearly “GOD MANIFEST IN THE FLESH”

I Tim. 3: 16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

George Jeffreys as reported by Edsor declared the following (p. 166) : Jesus was God veiled in human form. He claimed to be the only door into the Kingdom of God; the only Giver of eternal life to sinners; the only Bread of Life to satisfy spiritual hunger; the only Living Water to quench soul-thirst; the only Way, to follow; the only Truth, to lean upon; and the only Life in which to abide. He also claimed to be the only possessor of the keys of death and of hell.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

THE HOLY SPIRIT: We believe in the deity of the Holy Spirit who proceeds from the Father and the Son and the necessity of His work in conviction of sin, repentance, regeneration and sanctification, and that the believer is also promised an enduement of power as the gift of Christ through the baptism in the Holy Spirit with signs following.  Through this enduement the believer is empowered for fuller participation in the ministry of the Church, its worship, evangelism and service.

The Holy Spirit’s deity is dependent on the Son’s deity which has been brought into question by use of false translations.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

MANKIND: We believe in the universal sinfulness of all men since the Fall, rendering man subject to God’s wrath and condemnation.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

SALVATION: We believe in the necessity for salvation of repentance towards God and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ by which the sinner is pardoned and accepted as righteous in God’s sight.  This justification is imputed by the grace of God because of the atoning work of Christ, is received by faith alone and is evidenced by the Fruit of the Spirit and a holy life.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

THE CHURCH: We believe in the spiritual unity and the priesthood of all believers in Christ and that these comprise the universal Church,  the Body of Christ.

This is an excellent statement but how much is it realised in Elim today that the Body of Christ is one spirit with the Lord, members of  his body, flesh and bones, partakers of his divine nature?

Gal. 2:20; Col. 3; II Cor 7:1; 12:9; Gal. 3:3; Rom. 6

Galatians 2:20 (King James Version)

I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

Colossians 3:3-4 (King James Version)

For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.  When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.

2 Corinthians 7:1 (King James Version)

Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

2 Corinthians 12:9 (King James Version)

And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

Galatians 3:3 (King James Version)

Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?

Romans 6:3-5 (King James Version)

Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?  Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as  Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:

Gen. 1:26-28; Col. 1:15,16. In God’s Image!

Genesis 1:26-28 (King James Version)

And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.  So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

Colossians 1:15-16 (King James Version)

Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:  For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:

John 14 Who can do greater works?

John 14:10-13 (King James Version)

Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the

Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.

11 Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works' sake.

12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

John 17:21  Did Jesus pray that we be one in the Father and Son? Did Jesus have a successful prayer life – If so how can flesh be one in the Trinity?

John 17:21-22 (King James Version)

That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.  And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may

be one, even as we are one:

I Cor.6:17; Eph.5:30; Jer. 3:14 Joined unto the Lord – members of his body, flesh and bones!

Does this relate to flesh or divinity?

1 Corinthians 6:17 (King James Version)

But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.

Ephesians 5:30-32 (King James Version)

For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.  For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.  This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.

Jeremiah 3:14 (King James Version)

Turn, O backsliding children, saith the LORD; for I am married unto you: and I will take you one of a city, and two of a family, and I will bring you to Zion:

Rom. 12:1 What do we present holy?

Romans 12:1 (King James Version)

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

I John 4:17 As He is – So Are we ?

I John 4:17 (Kings James Version)

Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.

Rom. 8:17; Gal. 4:7 What does being equal mean?

Romans 8:17 (King James Version)

And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.

Galatians 4:7 (King James Version)

Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ

Rom. 11; John 15:7 If we are the branches or the lump – how can we bear a different name?

Rom. 11:16 (King James Version) For if the firstfruit be holy, the lump is also holy: and if the root be holy, so are the branches.

John 15:5-7 (King James Version) I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.  If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.  If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you

Matt. 5:48; 19:21;  II Tim. 3:16,17; Eph. 4:11,12; Phil.2:5; Eph.4:24; Col. 1:27-29; I Peter 1:16; 5:10; Heb. 6:1; 10:14; James 1:4;

Are we called to be perfect?

Matthew 5:48 (King James Version)

Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

Matthew 19:21 (King James Version)

Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 (King James Version)

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:  That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

Ephesians 4:11-12 (King James Version)

And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;  For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:

Philippians 2:5 (King James Version)

Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:

Ephesians 4:24 (King James Version)

And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

Colossians 1:27-29 (King James Version)

To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:  Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus:  Whereunto I also labour, striving according to his working, which worketh in me mightily.

1 Peter 1:16 (King James Version)

Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.

1 Peter 5:10 (King James Version)

But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.

Hebrews 6:1 (King James Version)

Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,

Hebrews 10:14 (King James Version)

For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.

James 1:4 (King James Version)

But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing

Partakers of the divine nature and glorified?

2 Peter 1:4 (King James Version)

Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

Col. 1:12 (King James Version)

Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:

Rom. 8:30 (King James Version)

Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.

Hebrews 3:14 (King James Version)

For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;

John 1:12-14; I Peter 1:23

Born of blood, flesh or of God beholding whose Glory?

John 1:12-14 (King James Version)

But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

I Peter 1: 23 (King James Version)

Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

Heb. 7:11-12; I Peter 2:9; Col. 1:12-24;

Eph. 1 and 2 Who are the priests now?

Hebrews 7:11-12 (King James Version)

If therefore perfection were by the Levitical priesthood, (for under it the people received the law,) what further need was there that

another priest should rise after the order of Melchisedec, and not be called after the order of Aaron? For the priesthood being changed, there is made of necessity a change also of the law.

1 Peter 2:9 (King James Version)

But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light;

Colossians 1:12-24 (King James Version)

Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:

In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:

Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:

For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:

And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.

And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the

preeminence.

For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell;

And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be

things in earth, or things in heaven.

And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled

In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreprovable in his sight:

If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister;

Who now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up that which is behind of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh for his body's sake, which is the church:

Ephesians 1:17-23 (King James Version)

That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him;

The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,

And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,

Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,

Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:

And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,

Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.

Ephesians 2:6-7 (King James Version)

And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:

That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.

The Temple of God Is Holy!

1 Corinthians 3:16-23 (King James Version)

Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?

If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.

Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise.

For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness.

And again, The Lord knoweth the thoughts of the wise, that they are  vain.

Therefore let no man glory in men. For all things are your's;  Whether Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things to come; all are your's;

And ye are Christ's; and Christ is God's.

2 Corinthians 6:16-18 (King James Version)

And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.

And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

THE MINISTRY:We believe in the ministries that Christ has set in His Church, namely, apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and

teachers and in the present operation of the manifold Gifts of the Holy Spirit according to the New Testament.

During my time at Elim Bible College I saw little evidence of this, my experience being of seeing the Pastor-People heavy shepherding syndrome strongly in action.

George Jeffreys as reported by Edsor declared the following (p. 175) :Because Formal Protestantism has neglected or ignored Christ’s pattern for His Churches in Matthew 18: 15 to 20, one of the most powerful promises in the Word of God has been surrendered to a false centrally-controlled priesthood that has no foundation whatsoever in the New Testament.

What George Jeffreys founded has become what he warned about, the present rulers being the follow on controllers that the Jeffreys out of the once great movement he founded.

THE ORDINANCES: We believe in the baptism of believers in water in obedience to the command of Christ and the commemoration of Christ’s death by the observance of the Lord’s Supper until His return.

George Jeffreys as reported by Edsor declared the following (p. 170) : Baptism by immersion in the Name of Jesus Christ is the outward witness that the penitent has found eternal life in the Death of Christ.

My considerable experience of life in Elim Churches is that I never saw a baptism take place in the manner George Jeffreys ordained.

THE COMMISSION: We believe that the Gospel embraces the needs of the whole man and that the Church is therefore commissioned to preach the gospel to the world and to fulfil a ministry of healing and deliverance to the spiritual and physical needs of mankind.

It is pleasing to witness “the Gospel” in the statement of faith which is contrary to the “new translations” used in Elim, which declare “an Gospel” or “our common faith” which means there is more than one!

Why can’t Elim use the Bible instead of Gnostic Counterfeits which undermine excellent points given in Elim’s original Statement

of Faith?

Revelation 14:6 (King James Version)

And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people,

Revelation 14:6 (The Message)

I saw another Angel soaring in Middle-Heaven. He had an Eternal Message to preach to all who were still on earth, every nation and tribe, every tongue and people. He preached in a loud voice, "Fear God and give him glory!

HERESY:  MORE THAN ONE WAY TO GOD PHILOSOPHY

Proverbs 22:28 (King James Version)

Remove not the ancient landmark, which thy fathers have set.

WE REPEAT AGAIN!

He was a man of one Book –

The Authorised Version of the Bible,

which he loved and treasured

and from which he

derived great spiritual strength.

We are happy to work with all those desiring to restore the landmarks of the founders to the Pentecostal Movements.

The case against the present rulers is overwhelming - to remove the landmark of the Authorised Version  and the vision and callings of the founders has been nothing less than an act of gross blasphemy.

Revelation 14:6 (Amplified Bible)

Then I saw another angel flying in midair, with an eternal Gospel (good news) to tell to the inhabitants of the earth, to every race and tribe and language and people.

Footnotes:

Titus 1:4 NU-Text reads and Christ Jesus.

HERESY: MORE THAN ONE WAY TO GOD PHILOSOPHY:

Also typical decadent NKJV reference to the text underlying NIV that leaves out " Lord"

THE COMING KING: We believe in the personal, physical and visible return of the Lord Jesus Christ to reign in power and glory.

THE FUTURE STATE: We believe in the resurrection of the dead and in the final judgement of the world, the eternal conscious bliss of the righteous and the eternal conscious punishment of the wicked.

MAJOR PROBLEM –

“Damnation” is different to the condemnation of the new translations, a condemned man having a once for all punishment, a damned man  having eternal punishment. Elim’s “eternal conscious punishment” is not supported in the “Bibles” used in Elim.

A.V. Mark 16: 16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

NKJV: Mark 16: 16 He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned

NIV: Mark 16:16 Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.

HEALING MISSING FROM CURRENT STATEMENT OF FAITH:

Considering healing was very much part of Elim’s original calling it is extremely strange not to find healing in the existing statement of faith.

George Jeffreys as reported by Edsor declared the following (p. 168) : Bodily healing in the supernatural realm is clearly taught throughout the whole range of Scripture. The Christian Church right down through the centuries has emphasized the truth that the Bible is the Word of God, that its commandments should be implicitly obeyed, and its promises believingly appropriated.

This statement of Jeffreys is a million miles away from my experiences at what was Elim Bible College.

III. The Apostolic Church

The following original tenets have been copied from the website of the Apostolic Church in 2008.

http://www.apostolic-church.org/AboutUs/OurHistory/tabid/235/Default.aspx

Today's tenets are compared with the original ones to see if they match up with the original Bible of the Apostolic Church.

http://www.apostolic-church.org/tenets-1.phtml

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tenet No. 1

Please Note: The original tenets of the Apostolic Church were published in English in 1920

(Up to 1919 they had been in Welsh)

ORIGINAL:

No. 1: The unity of the Godhead and the Trinity of the Persons therein.

Philippians 2:6 (King James Version)

Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:

The issue of the co-existent, co-equal Godhead is crucial with the infiltration of masters and inferiors heavy shephereding practice that has infiltrated the Pentecostal denominations today.

It is very significant that the "new translations" the Apostolics now generally use do not have I John 5:7

1 John 5:7 (King James Version)

For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.

MODERN:

1. The one true and living God who eternally exists in three persons in unity: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Neither tenet can be supported by the scriptures widely used in the Apostolic Church of today!

“New translations” agree with New World Translation on “lesser than Jehovah God” point!

NWT Jehovah’s Witness:

Phil.2: 6 who, although he was existing in God’s form, gave no consideration to a seizure, namely, that he should be equal to God.

NIV Phil. 2:6 Who, being in very nature God,

did not consider equality with God something to be grasped,

NASB Phil. 2:6 who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped

AMPLIFIED Phil. 2:6 Who, although being essentially one with God and in the form of God [possessing the fullness of the attributes which make God God], did not think this equality with God was a thing to be eagerly grasped or retained,

NLT Phil. 2:6 Though he was God, he did not think of equality with God as something to cling to.

ESV Phil 2: 6 who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped,

How can you have a tenet which declares the unity of the Godhead and a “Bible” that declares that Jesus could not grasp equality with God!!!!!!!

I am awaiting on evidence that the Apostolic Church used to teach in its College the "co-existent, co-equal Godhead". There is no evidence in the modern tenent that this is still the case.

Signs confirm the Word and strange activities confirm the false Word!!!!! As we have discovered also, “new translations” do not declare that it was “God manifest in the flesh”!

NIV: 1 Tim. 3:16 Beyond all question, the mystery of godliness is great: He appeared in a body, was vindicated by the Spirit,
was seen by angels, was preached among the nations, was believed on in the world, was taken up in glory.

NASB: 1 Tim. 3:16 By common confession, great is the mystery of godliness:He who was revealed in the flesh,

Was vindicated in the Spirit,Seen by angels. Proclaimed among the nations,Believed on in the world,Taken up in glory.

Footnotes: a) 1 Timothy 3:16 Some manuscripts read "God."

(Note; where Amplified says “some manuscripts – it is insultingly downgrading Textus Receptus – the PURE WORD OF GOD!)

NLT I Tim. 3:16 Without question, this is the great mystery of our faith: Christ was revealed in a human body and vindicated by the Spirit. He was seen by angels and announced to the nations. He was believed in throughout the world and taken to heaven in glory.

ESV I Tim. 3:16 Great indeed, we confess, is the mystery of godliness:He was manifested in the flesh, vindicated by the Spirit, seen by angels, proclaimed among the nations, believed on in the world, taken up in glory.

AUTHORIZED VERSION says clearly

“GOD MANIFEST IN THE FLESH”

I Tim. 3: 16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tenet No. 2

ORIGINAL: The utter depravity of human nature, the necessity for repentance and regeneration, and the eternal doom of the finally impenitent.

Mark 16:15-16 (King James Version)

And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

MODERN:The inherent corruptness of man through the Fall; The necessity of repentance and regeneration by grace and through faith in Christ alone and the eternal separation from God of the finally unrepentant.

The toned down modern tenet is more in keeping with the "new translations", "doom" having been replaced by "separation. This is in line with the change from the use of the word "damned" to "condemned".

NKJV Mark16: 15 And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. 16 He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.

NIV Mark 16:15He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation. 16Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.

WEBSTERS DICTIONARY on “DAMNED” - People who are condemned to eternal punishment; "he felt he had visited the realm of the damned".

On “CONDEMNED” - Pronounced or proved guilty; "the condemned man faced the firing squad with dignity"; "a convicted criminal".

“Damned” is much more serious as this relates to eternal punishment according to Webster’s Dictionary, whereas “condemned” means to be made dead in the context of immediate death – not the context of Mark 16.

NKJV, NIV therefore, gives credence to the annihilationist theory rather than the Biblical perspective of damnation which is what Jesus saved the “born again” believer from.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tenet No 3

ORIGINAL: The Virgin Birth, sinless life, triumphant Resurrection, Ascension, and abiding Intercession of our Lord Jesus Christ; His Second Coming and Millennial Reign upon earth.

Luke 2: 33 (King James Version)

And Joseph and his mother marvelled at those things which were spoken of him.

MODERN: The Virgin birth, sinless life, atoning death, triumphant resurrection, ascension and continuing intercession of our Lord Jesus Christ; His second coming and millennial reign upon earth.

However, it would seem that the new "bibles" widely used by the "Emerging Apostolics" that there was no virgin birth! Joseph was Jesus father!

“New translations” agree with New World Translation on “Joseph was Jesus father” point!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tenet No 4

ORIGINAL: Justification and Sanctification of the Believer through the finished work of Christ.

However, today the Alpha Course, so commonly used by the Emerging Apostolics does not portray the finished work of Christ, but allows for continuous confession to a Priest.

Would the prophets and apostles of the early Apostolic Church allowed for such an infiltration into their doctrinal stand?

MODERN: The Justification and sanctification of believers through the finished work of Christ.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tenet No 5

ORIGINAL: The Baptism of the Holy Ghost for believers, with signs following.

MODERN: The baptism of the Holy Spirit for believers with supernatural signs, empowering the church for its mission in the world.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tenet No 6

ORIGINAL: The Gifts of the Holy Ghost for the comfort,

edification and building up of the Church, which is the Body of Christ.

1 Corinthians 14:3 (King James Version)

But he that prophesieth speaketh unto men to edification, and exhortation, and comfort.

MODERN: The gifts of the Holy Spirit for the building up of the Church and ministry to the world.

It would seem the Apostolic Church of today are using the terms of Alpha rather than the terminology of the Apostolic Church founders. The founders clearly referred to the Holy Ghost and used the Biblical terms of comfort and edification in their original tenet. This is now gone and as one looks at the decadent websites of the New Apostolics it is clear the movement is being lost to charismania!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tenet No 7

ORIGINAL: The Sacraments of Baptism by immersion, and of the Lord's Supper.

MODERN: The Sacraments of Baptism by immersion and of the Lord’s Supper

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tenet No 8

ORIGINAL: The Divine Inspiration and Authority of the Holy Scriptures.

Reference to the Authorised Version

MODERN: The divine inspiration and authority of the Holy Scriptures.

Reference to Gnostic Versions as it is these generally quoted on this "Emerging" Movement's websites

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tenet No 9

ORIGINAL: Church Government by Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors, Teachers, Elders and Deacons.

In the Bible of the founders this was for "Perfecting the Saints"

Ephesians 4:11-12 (King James Version)

And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:

MODERN: Christ’s leadership of the Church through apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, teachers, elders and deacons, for unity, maturity and growth of the church.

This is a significant doctrinal change particularly in view of the new tenets not having the Church as "the body of Christ". This I know is an allowance for heavy shepherding.

The Church is the Body of Christ, the five fold ministry being for perfecting the saints, but here the new Apostolics see Christ as a separate entity giving no allowance for John 17, no allowance for perfection.

We clearly have a new movement with a new creed, a million miles away from the passions and wholehearted surrender of the early Apostolics in Wales.

The new "Bibles" of the Apostolics deny the "perfecting".

Ephesians 4:11-12 (New King James Version)

And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ,

Ephesians 4:11-12 (New International Version, ©2010)

So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers,

to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up

With the new NIV Apostolics there is now Christ and his people. With the founders of the Apostolic Church - the Church was THE BODY OF CHRIST - perfected because of THE FINISHED WORK OF CHRIST.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tenet No 10

ORIGINAL: The possibility of falling from Grace.

MODERN: The security of the believer as he remains in Christ

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tenet No 11

ORIGINAL: The obligatory nature of Tithes and Offerings.

MODERN: The privilege and responsibility of bringing tithes and offerings to the Lord.

No longer obligatory today - hence withdrawal from the Abrahamic Covenant - Gen 14 and Gal 3.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Our cry to the Apostolic Church is to come back to the landmark, to the land of thy birth.

My father, trained under Rees Howells came from a very similar background to thee.

Mining families of the South Wales valleys but I tell thee today, Thou hast forsaken thy landmark, the Lord requires thee to come back, to receive the joys of Pentecost.

Of thy fathers when at an Apostolic meeting, those in sin would be called forward to repent.

These days are returning, saith the Lord.

My judgment is upon all those who have forsaken my landmark.

Come back to me, saith the Lord.

Forsake these men pleasing approaches of seeker sensitivity.

Come Back! Come Back! Come Back!

2013-17: The Remnant is getting stronger in each of these Pentecostal Denominations and there are clear divisions and splits - only those of the original call are allowed to continue under the Ministry Name
